Google & AI

No one has failed to notice the rise of AI. With tools like ChatGPT and its integration into Bing, Google is facing (for the first time?) stiff competition. Internet search is undergoing a massive evolution. We’re curious to see what the future holds.

Today, we’re giving you a sneak peek at what Google itself announced during its latest I/O event.

Google I/O Summary

Here you’ll find a summary of Google I/O. This recap covers more than just SEO developments. It also includes Google Photos, Maps, and more.

We’re particularly interested in all the latest news about search engine optimization. For example, Bard is now being rolled out to over 180 countries. For now, it’s available only in English.

AI in Search Results

1) New SERP layout

The appearance of the SERP will change completely. AI results provide a personalized explanation and answer to your search query. This takes up more space, causing the traditional “blue links” to shift further down the page.

As far as can be seen in the video, these are mainly long questions or prompts.

2) Follow-up questions

Based on your previous search, you can dig deeper by asking follow-up questions. This allows you to search more specifically for the right answer. It’s like having a conversation with Google.

We’re already curious to see how AI will evolve within search engines. For now, this is still a new development, and the updates are being rolled out in English. As soon as we learn more and see how you can optimize for this, we’ll provide an update.

AI in Search Predictions

Our prediction centers mainly on what you include in your content. The quality of your content will become even more important. The recent updates—and there have been quite a few—demonstrate this one by one. So start with your own knowledge and distill it into compelling articles or pages. That’s the only way you’ll make a difference.

AI search results are still in their infancy, and for now, it seems they will mainly have an impact on long-tail search queries. These are search queries in which you ask complete questions.

The main question is: how will search evolve?

Tip

Do you remember the first time you used Google? That was probably a lot easier. By now, you know how to search and which filters to use. We think it’s the same with AI.

The technology is still new, and we still have to learn how to use it. So the prompts we enter today will also continue to evolve as we gain a better understanding of how to get the best results from AI.
